At 31, the Italian goalkeeper Gori has transitioned from Florence's youth academy to Manchester United's, an event that stirred controversy with Florentine sports director Colivino back in 2012. After two years with the Manchester United youth team, Gori never made it onto the first team's roster. In 2014, his contract with Manchester United expired, prompting his return to Italy where he joined Verona. Gori also played for Villa and Tottenham, but it was at Atalanta where he truly made a name for himself, earning a spot on the Italian national team.
